2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup of unsalted butter (still cold and in cubes of cut-up)

1/2 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

• In a big bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt with your hand, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

• First, add the cold butter and cut it into the mixture using a pastry cutter or two knives until the dough has a finished crumb texture.

• Combine the milk and vanilla extract by slowly whisking them into the mixture until all ingredients are incorporated.

• Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times as it forms.

• Pat the dough into a round disk of about 1-inch thickness and divide it into eight pieces.

• Place the dough on the baking tray and cook for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

• Offer them with jam and clotted cream on a warm basis.

Gujiya Recipe:

Make Gujhia at home this Holi

Ingeredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

One medium spoonful of ghee is the equivalent of 1 tablespoon of clarified butter.

Water, as needed

A teaspoonful of whole sunflower seeds.

1/2 cup powdered sugar

To your individual taste, two tablespoons of nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews).

Oil for frying

Instructions:

• In a large bowl, mix the flour with ghee until it feels like a blend of coarse crumbs.

• Firstly, add dry ingredients little by little with enough water to create a dough that is soft and even.

• Spread the dough with a damp towel and leave it at rest for 30 min.

• In the other bowl, the dry ingredients, mawa, powdered sugar, sugar and nuts, are mixed to create the paste.

• Cut the dough into the small dough round and roll each into a circular shape.

• First, lay the filling in the center of each disc and unfold it to make a semi-circle.

• Garnish the edges and shove them jointly with a fork.

• Cook in deep frying oil by frying the gujiyas until golden brown.

• Let them stand on a paper towel, leaving them to cool down before serving.
