On the morning of February 1, in the year 2003, India lost the first Indian born woman in space, Kalpana Chawla. She was the first Indian-American woman to reach the space. Mary Kom a boxer, actually she is the only Indian woman boxer who qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics and also won a bronze medal. She made India proud with her glorious achievements. A five-time World Amateur Boxing Champion, named as Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom, fondly known as Magnificent Mary, the only woman to have won six medals in a row in the world championship.
